From November 25 to December 10, 2021, we wear orange to show our support for victims of domestic violence and violence against women, thereby contributing to increasing the visibility of this phenomenon and encouraging actions to combat violence.
Today, the Republic of Moldova joins the global campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence," which takes place every year from November 25 to December 10, coinciding with the observance of two important international days: the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (November 25) and Human Rights Day (December 10).
The purpose of the campaign is to prevent and combat gender-based violence by raising awareness of violence as a violation of human rights, its consequences and costs, as well as the mechanisms for addressing it at the community and national levels.
Additionally, the campaign aims to inform and sensitize the public about the phenomenon of violence against women and to highlight the severe effects that violence has on women, children in particular, and on families and society as a whole.
In 2021, the international campaign launched the following slogan: "Paint the World Orange: Stop Violence Against Women Now!"
