The Concept of the National Program for the Prevention and Combating of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence in the Republic of Moldova for the years 2023-2027 was discussed at the meeting of the Interministerial Coordinating Council on this topic

On February 10, 2023, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova hosted the launch of the Concept for the National Program on the Prevention and Combating of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence for the years 2023-2027 during the ad-hoc meeting of the Interministerial Coordinating Council on the prevention and combating of domestic violence.

During the meeting, the Theory of Change was presented, which analyzes the state's response to violence against women and domestic violence, setting policy priorities for strengthening a more effective state response to this phenomenon, as well as ensuring victims' rights.

The Concept of the second National Program for the Prevention and Combating of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence over the next five years aims to focus on: ensuring gender equality and combating gender stereotypes; zero tolerance for all forms of violence against women and domestic violence; effective multidisciplinary responses to victim-centered violence cases through the development of sufficient and adequate social services; an effective justice system response to cases of violence against women and domestic violence through holding perpetrators accountable and developing programs for offenders; adopting legislation and establishing appropriate institutional frameworks; and enhancing the capacities of all specialists (from social assistance, local administration, police, justice, health, education) for an effective response to cases of domestic violence in accordance with best practices in the field. The only way to achieve real progress and have a sustainable impact is through the involvement of all central and local authorities, civil society partners, the media, and the private sector, with each local community collaborating to prevent violence against women and domestic violence and ensuring access to long-term support services for women and their children affected by violence.

The meeting was organized in a hybrid format, with the participation of representatives from public authorities and institutions, civil society, and development partners.
