The working group for the Integrated Regional Service for Sexual Violence Victims, coordinated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, held its first meeting

The working group is tasked with validating intersectoral collaboration mechanisms in the provision of integrated services for victims of sexual violence, analyzing existing issues and gaps in this process, as well as ensuring the continuous dissemination of information to the institutions involved in the Integrated Service's activities. The working group was established through Ministerial Order No. 127/2024, and its first meeting, chaired by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, took place on July 11, 2024.

Discussions during the meeting included the presentation of the working group's competencies, the results of the pilot phase of the Integrated Regional Service for the first 8 months of operation, the challenges encountered, and the lessons learned.

Representatives from national and local institutions with expertise in preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, as well as civil society organizations, identified solutions for improving the intersectoral collaboration mechanism to ensure a victim-centered intervention for victims of sexual violence.

In the first 8 months of the pilot phase, the Integrated Service provided assistance to 33 victims from 6 districts: Ungheni, Fălești, Sîngerei, Călărași, Nisporeni, and Telenești. The piloting of this service is supported by the International Center "La Strada," with financial backing from UN Women, for a period of 2 years.
