A new service dedicated to victims of sexual violence is set to be piloted in the Republic of Moldova, aiming to prevent their repeated victimization. Based on an integrated approach, the service seeks to provide enhanced protection to victims of gender-based and domestic violence, including by developing and strengthening partnerships with civil society organizations and development partners.
To inform stakeholders of the project's provisions, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection organized a meeting on March 17, with the participation of representatives from central and local public authorities, civil society, development partners, and others. During the event, participants reviewed the project and provided recommendations and proposals.
It should be noted that the Integrated Service for victims of sexual violence will be developed and piloted as part of the EVA Project "Promoting Gender Equality in the Cahul and Ungheni Districts," funded by the European Union and implemented by UN Women in partnership with UNICEF from 2020 to May 2023.
