During the event, the measures taken and progress made to ensure the rights recognized by the Convention were outlined. Authorities and public institutions, civil society organizations, as well as development partners participated in the drafting and consultation of the report.
Felicia Bechtoldt, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection: 'This year marks the 30th anniversary of the ratification of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, during which progress has been made in this field through the adoption of appropriate and conclusive policies, promoted with the joint efforts of public authorities, civil society, ordinary citizens, and, last but not least, with the support of development partners.'
'We will take into account the recommendations of the CEDAW specialized committee for our country to further facilitate the creation of a conducive environment for women and men to equally realize all their economic, social, cultural, civil, and political rights, etc. It is an absolute necessity for a rule-of-law state, democratic in nature, to respect the dignity and rights of its citizens,' added the Secretary of State.
