Recovery and Reintegration of Domestic Violence Victims: Addressing Contemporary Challenges. The Regulations for the Social Service Dedicated to Victims of Violence Will Be Improved

On March 25, a public consultation session took place regarding the Government's draft decision to approve the Framework Regulation for the organization and operation of the social rehabilitation service for victims of domestic violence and the Minimum Quality Standards.

During the meeting, State Secretary Felicia Bechtoldt emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-institutional and international cooperation in combating domestic violence, stating, "Alignment with European standards is essential to ensure the efficiency and relevance of our services in the face of contemporary challenges."

The proposed amendments to the regulatory framework aim to address the difficulties faced by service providers in the rehabilitation of victims of domestic violence and to ensure the improvement of the quality of services offered to them. The proposed adjustments will strengthen protection and assistance mechanisms for victims, thus contributing to a better integration of European practices within rehabilitation centers.

The impact of developing the regulatory framework regarding the social rehabilitation service for victims of domestic violence will be reflected in a significant increase in the quality of life for victims, providing them with the necessary support for their reintegration into society and physical and emotional recovery.

The public consultation session was attended by representatives of territorial social assistance agencies, specialized service providers for victims of domestic violence funded from the state budget, and non-commercial organizations.

The event was organized in partnership with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and with financial support from Sweden.
