Specialists from the agencies and territorial structures of social assistance have been trained on interventions in situations of domestic violence

Between April 16 and May 8, 43 specialists in the field of preventing and combating domestic violence and rehabilitating crime victims from territorial social assistance agencies and subordinate structures, as well as representatives of social assistance structures from the municipality of Chișinău and the UTA Gagauzia, participated in the initial training course "Aspects of Interventions in Situations of Domestic Violence and Rehabilitation of Crime Victims."

The training aimed to strengthen the capacities of specialists at the territorial level regarding the phenomenon of domestic violence, specific international and national regulations, intervention tools, effective communication techniques, identification of crime victims and their rights, the role of authorities in preventing and identifying human trafficking crimes or related offenses, special protection mechanisms for crime victims, and inter-institutional and inter-sectoral cooperation to ensure the rights to assistance and protection for crime victims.

Throughout the training, participants had the opportunity to test their acquired knowledge in practical activities, addressing challenges encountered in practice.

The training was organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection in partnership with the Council of Europe Office in Chișinău and the International Organization for Migration Mission, with financial support from the European Union.

It is noteworthy that the role of specialist in the field of preventing and combating domestic violence and rehabilitating crime victims was established starting this year, following the launch of the social assistance reform "Restart," aimed at implementing policies in the field of preventing and combating domestic violence, as well as rehabilitating victims at the local level.
